"The Evolution of the Doctor-Patient Relationship in Modern Medicine"

My relationship with patients has had to evolve over these 20 years, as the time for listening has been sacrificed to the demands of computer bureaucracy and the monetization of medical services. However, with a bit of skill and often accumulating a bit of delay, I always try to 'listen' to my patients. Sometimes, even if it might seem like a 'waste of time,' it can actually be helpful in diagnosis and therapy. I believe that the doctor-patient relationship should indeed be a subject taught during the six years of medical school in Italy. In my time, it was not so; I sincerely hope it is now.
